Need some intel on a K and T model H dividing head

Just acquired a nice model h KandT dividing head but have a question about it. As i was going over the head turning things and rotating things i noticed that the crank handle which rotates the chuck is very difficult to turn by hand. This is not the crank handle that is connecting to the dividing plate. I was able to get it to move but again it was very difficult and almost impossible to rotate if using the little handle that is attached to it. I know it is old and perhaps wasn't used...
