80% lower from 0% lower

I’m looking for a deal on a Bridgeport series 1 at the moment. I’ve been looking at 80% ar10/15 lowers, they don’t seem hard to finish, but to turn a block of aluminum into an 80% seems like it would be a bit more difficult.

Operate and program a HAAS VF2 at work, but haven’t done much on a manual mill since school a decade ago. It seems like I could do a lot with bigger end mills and some router bits. But google black lists a lot of resources, just wandering what others have done...
