is there a sub forum specific for a Home Garage Machinist?

I'm in particular looking for a recommendations for a smaller CNC Lathe and Mill, or Combo machine for a garage. To be more specific how to choose one? What do I tell my electrician, so he can tell me what are my limits and what he can and cannot do? Planning on running Brass, Aluminum, plastics, maybe some light cutting on stainless.
